The ever popular rods of choice for larger rivers, stillwaters and reservoirs. Massive reserves of power allowing those extra yards to reach the fish previously out of range.

The all new Spectre Pro rods use the very latest carbon fibre technology and build on thepast performance of their predecessors. For many years Snowbee have used ‘multi-modulus’ carbon technology varying the tensile modulus of the carbon fibre, through the blank, to precisely design and control the stiffness and flex in each section, as well as the important recovery speed of the tip. Using predominantly 40 ton carbon fibre with a small amount of 36 ton, Snowbee have achieved the precise, crisp, middle-to-tip action we required, through careful manipulation of the resin formulation and carbon fibre scrim.

The blanks are left ‘un-ground’ with a natural finish, leaving the original matt lay-up of the double helical hoop pattern intact, adding strength to the blank, making it far more durable, whilst still providing the desired enhanced performance. The satin finish, silver/grey blank, helps eliminate ‘rod flash’, whilst the contrasting black whippings, with subtle silver trim, give these rods a contemporary finish and ‘understated’ look. To keep weight to a minimum, we have used lightweight machined aluminium reel seats, with carbon fibre inserts and a silver anodised finish. Each rod in the range has a small rubber-cork fighting butt and comes in a quality self-colour cotton drill rod bag, plus matching Cordura covered rod tube.

  1. For a Stillwater fly rod that exudes power, this is it

I’ve had quite a few #7 fly rods and when you read the reviews, a lot of them say a powerful tip actioned rod and powerful.

In truth a lot of fly rods are powerful, but their true power only shines through, when you’re playing something big. That’s when you see the true power curve of the rod.

From the handle up, the Spectre Pro #7 rod I have has a full wells cork handle and double up locking screw fittings and an alloy reel seat to secure your reel.

I like the fighting butt as it adds a point, where I can add a little more leverage against me, whenever I’m struggling to gain the upper hand on a strong trout.

The rod ring configuration is a hay fork tip ring and snakes running down to two guides, with the closest ring being lined to aid shooting.

For a four piece rod this is a very capable caster. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been fishing for years and matched with a Spectre line, this is a winning combination.

Because the finish is grey, it doesn’t glint or flash which is a good bit thinking when your casting on bright days. Try this and see for yourself? Stand across from someone casting and see if there’s a samurai like flash when they cast?? You won’t see it from the Spectre rods. Brilliant really.

Fishing the Spectre Pro is a real breeze. I wouldn’t describe it as a tippy rod, but when you want to just wind it up and let loose, this rod will give what you want. Power from the tip to the middle of the rod, but has reserves in the lower half, if you really want it.

No doubt I won’t be the first to talk about the Spectre Pro rods, but until you get one in your hands, you’ll just have to take my word for it

All the other information you need on these rods is added in the build/quality write up along with the accessories that the rods come with.

Try one and see for yourself
