1. What are polarised fishing sunglasses and why do I need a pair?

2. Which are the best polarised sunglasses for fishing?

It depends on how and where you fish. For all-round performance and the widest lens coverage, our Spectre range is our top pick – available in Retro and Wrap full-frame styles such as the Spectre Wrap Full Frame Sunglasses in Amber. If you want a reliable, budget-friendly pair to keep in the tackle bag, the Classic Sunglasses range – including the Classic Wrap-Around Full Frame in Black/Smoke – is excellent value. 3. Do you sell prescription sunglasses?

We don't supply prescription lenses directly, but two ranges are designed for anglers who already wear glasses. Our Clip-On/Flip-Up Sunglasses attach straight onto your existing prescription glasses and can be flipped up out of the way when not needed.. We have two options of bi-focal lenses available too, the design featuring ultra lightweight nylon frames with quality polycarbonate lenses with +2.5 magnifier lenses laminated to the bottom of the main lenses. Availability on both ranges varies seasonally, so check current stock before you buy.

4. What lens colour should I choose - amber, smoke, or mirror?

Amber and brown lenses are a great year-round choice, as on the Classic Wrap-Around Open Frame in Brown/Amber.They  boost contrast in moderate light and on overcast days, making them a favourite for spotting fish. Smoke/grey lenses give truer colour and reduce more glare, so are best in bright sun. Mirror-coated lenses, like the Spectre Retro Full Frame in Black/Grey/Blue Mirror, add an extra reflective layer that's ideal on open water on the brightest days. Yellow lenses are best for low light, cutting out minimal glare while adding contrast. Many anglers keep two tints on hand and swap depending on conditions.

5. What are magnifier and clip-on fishing sunglasses for?

Magnifiers build a small reading lens into the bottom of the frame, so you can tie knots, thread tippet or change flies without digging out a separate pair of reading glasses – see the Spectre Magnifier Sunglasses in Black/Smoke. 6. How do I look after my polarised sunglasses?

Rinse lenses in fresh water after any contact with salt spray or sun cream, then dry with a microfibre cloth rather than a sleeve or towel, which can scratch the polarised coating. Store them in a hard case when they're not on your face – most Snowbee sunglasses, including the Classic Sports Sunglasses, come with one – and avoid leaving them on a hot dashboard, which can warp the frame over time. Looked after this way, a good pair of fishing sunglasses will easily last several seasons.
