Spey-Casting is about shaping and positioning the ‘D’ loop in all situations from short-casts in confined pocket waters as well as coping with long open pools in difficult winds. It is about managing the bank-side profile, a tree-line canopy or angle of the cast to allow for wind and river flow and being able to easily and comfortably switch from right-hand-up to left-hand-up, depending on which side of the river you may be fishing.
